I would highly advise against using 00 buck shot in an urban environment. Picture this: You use 00 buck and a couple BBs miss and penetrate the wall into your child's bedroom... Those are massive BBs and are going to do damage.

Now take a #7 bird load for example... lots of smaller BBs... It will still have the knockdown needed to take down an intruder, but if a few of those BBs even make it through the wall, they wont have enough velocity to really do any devastating damage....

all in all, 00 buck shot will go through multiple walls before stopping. a bird load will only lightly pepper the room right behind the first wall... Think of your situation and whats behind your target.

I hope you buyers and pitantoel buyers will come home with a working model of the gun. Mine had extractor issues, FTRTB, FTF, FTE, you name it. Mine has been in the posession of Sig's corporate repair shop since June 18. That is pretty sad for a $700 pistol that was purchased new on June 11. I sure love the look of the gun, though. Maybe it will actually work when it is returned. Beware of one thing, though . Sig's customer service representatives are rude and unsympathetic. Google P238 extractor problems before purchasing. I wish I would have!

It's not a question of whteehr guns are outlawed. Nor is it about the second amendment protecting the ability of citizens to defend themselves with deadly force. It is about the ability for society to defend itself. Hence the second half of the second amendment. At the most local level where we have our own citizens on the front lines of defending our civil society, protecting the power of the community to decide for itself where guns are acceptable is also a most sacred right. This law has the state taking away the community's power to decide where guns can and cannot be carried. It may sound like a championship of the second amendment but in reality it's a back door for the state's power. The second amendment is not absolute nor is it proprietorially owned but one political ideology.

The Glock is the finest COMBAT pitsol ever made...The executive protection guys swear by them.I was at a dock in Norfolk, waiting for a US Navy destroyer carrying a buddy of mine to return from the Middle East, and I noticed some Secret Service suits standing around in the crowd of kids and family members. The Glock 17's they were all carrying printed pretty well even through thier sports coats.(Rumsfeld had a son serving on the destroyer and he was there to greet him, hence the bodyguards.)Animals and children love plastic toys.I don't have a problem with an experienced and mature shooter choosing a Glock, just as I don't have a problem with them choosing a 1911 as their main defensive arm. But the vast majority of students that I teach through my charity self defense course have never even seen a gun being fired before, let alone handled one. In my opinion Glocks and the 1911 just aren't suitable for someone with a less than well developed skill set. (i.e. a newbie) That is why I don't own a Glock myself, and why I discourage my students from buying one as their very first gun.James
